Where is king philip buried?
The Duke was interred in the Royal Vault at St George's Chapel. Following the Queen's death, his remains were moved to the King George VI Memorial Chapel inside St George's, where the couple were buried next to each other.
Later that evening, the Queen was buried with her husband, Prince Philip, alongside her parents and sister in Windsor Castle's King George VI Memorial Chapel in the Royal Vault.
This took place following a State Funeral at Westminster Abbey on September 19, 2022, which attracted hundreds of thousands of people lining the funeral route from London to her final resting place at St. George's Chapel in Windsor. There, there was a Committal Service open to the queen's past and present staff.
The gothic-style stone mausoleum is the final resting place of King George III, King George IV and King William IV.
At the service's conclusion, the Queen's coffin was lowered into the Royal Vault – the resting place of many past monarchs. Below the chapel lie King George III, IV and V, William IV and others. Last year Prince Philip, the Queen's husband, was also laid to rest there.
The pallbearers hail from the Queen's Company, the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards. 'It's their role to protect her body, both in life and in death, remaining in the Queen's Company until King Charles decides otherwise,' explained Major Adrian Weale to the PA.
She will be placed in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, and she will be with her husband Prince Philip. Philip is currently in the Royal Vault, but he will be moved to lie beside his wife in the chapel.
Originally interred in the Royal Vault at St George's Chapel in Windsor, George VI was then moved to the newly constructed chapel. Once the Queen has been buried, Prince Philip, will be moved to the chapel with her. Prince Philip, who died in April 2021, has previously been interred in the nearby St George's Chapel.
The general public are permitted to visit St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. There are three services a day at the chapel, and worshippers can go to any of them. Outside of the services, visitors can visit on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, but you have to pay.
Where will Camilla be buried?
She will be buried in the castle's King George VI Memorial Chapel, alongside her father, her mother, and her sister's ashes.

But the plaque on the tomb (see Figure 1.1) also acknowledges the presence of Elizabeth's half-sister, Mary. It reads: Partners both in throne and grave, here rest we two sisters Elizabeth and Mary, in the hope of one resurrection.
The last burial in the Royal Vault was Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, in 2021. His mother Princess Alice of Battenberg was also buried in the Royal Vault, but her body was transferred to Jerusalem in 1988.
Once the Royal Vault lift reaches the bottom of the shaft, the coffin is moved down a corridor and into the vault itself. The coffin is then interred in the vault, placed either on one of the shelves or on a plinth inside.
Embalming is a process which has also long been used by Royals, involving preservative fluids being injected into bodies to delay decomposition.
The Archbishop of Canterbury will give a blessing, and the national anthem is sung. The service is expected to end at around 4.30pm. The burial service will be a deeply personal family occasion and entirely private. It will be conducted by the dean of Windsor.
Queen Elizabeth II will be buried in an English oak coffin featuring brass handles that were designed more than 30 years ago, and lined with lead. It is estimated the coffin weighs between 250kg and 317kg.
Where is Henry VIII buried? Henry VIII's body rests in a vault under the Quire in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle near his third wife, Jane Seymour.
After the Service, Her Majesty's Coffin will be borne through the Abbey, returning to the State Gun Carriage for the Procession to Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner, arriving at 1300hrs. The King and Members of the Royal Family will again follow The Queen's Coffin in Procession.
What is a paw bear at a funeral?
A pallbearer is responsible for carrying the coffin or casket of the deceased from the hearse to its final place of rest, depending on whether it is a cremation or burial service.
There was nothing they could do, and Burnell-Williams was pronounced dead on the spot.
Queen Elizabeth will not be buried at Westminster Abbey because there is not enough space. There are 30 British monarchs who have their final resting place at Westminster Abbey, but no monarch has been buried there since 1760 due to space limitations.
While her coffin is draped in the Royal Standard – a flag representing the Sovereign and the UK, it will have the Imperial State Crown mounted on it. Additionally, The Queen's orb and her sceptre will also be spread on her coffin before she is laid to rest.
Prince Philip died in April of 2021 at the age of 99, and now that the queen has died as well, the two will be buried together inside of the Royal Vault. Neither one was cremated upon their death, as cremation is not a part of the traditions of the royal family.
The Queen will be buried within the King George VI Memorial Chapel, where she joins King George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and her sister Princess Margaret.
More generally, royals are buried in their finest clothing and jewellery. This may include robes or gowns, gloves, shoes, hats, tiaras and other items of their regular clothing. Additionally, funerary jewellery such as rings, medallions, and brooches may also be provided.
The Queen will be buried within the King George VI Memorial Chapel, named after her father who died in 1952. She will join her father and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, who died 20 years ago, as well her sister Princess Margaret, who had her ashes placed in the chapel after her death in 2002.

The royal family is under fire amid news that it will cost mourners almost $30 per person to visit Queen Elizabeth II's grave. Her Majesty was laid to rest last week at the King George VI Memorial Chapel, located on the grounds of Windsor Castle about an hour's drive from London.
How much does it cost to visit the Queen's grave? Entrance to the chapel is included with a visitors ticket to Windsor Castle. Tickets for adult tourists (aged over 24) to Windsor Castle cost £26.50 from Sunday to Friday, and £28.50 on Saturday, according to the Royal Collection Trust's website.
How deep will the queens grave be?
On Monday, the Queen's coffin will be lowered into St George's Chapel's Royal Vault, a burial chamber 16 feet deep where Philip's coffin currently resides. Both coffins will then be retrieved and buried at their final resting place at the King George VI Memorial Chapel, which is an annex of St George's Chapel.
What Happens With Queen Elizabeth's Clothes? Queen Elizabeth never wears the same outfit twice at important events. Therefore, the sovereign prefers to either change her outfits and if she gets bored of them, she sends them to her dressers, who are then allowed to either wear them themselves or sell them.
Camilla would instead become the “Queen Dowager”. “Dowager” is a term used to refer to the widow of a peer or a monarch, and Camilla would no longer be the Queen Consort once her husband had passed away.
The monarchs and their families in the chapel are not in soil to decompose in the way most people who are buried in cemeteries do. According to a report in The Guardian, it can take 10-15 years for a body to breakdown to a skeleton if buried in soil.
Diana's body was clothed in a black long-sleeved, three-quarter length woolen cocktail dress designed by Catherine Walker which she had chosen some weeks before, a pair of black pantyhose, and a pair of black shoes.
Sergeant Xavier Gourmelon, who led the response team in Paris, told The Independent Diana's last words were, “My God, what's happened?” Brown narrates what may have happened next: “She turned her head and saw the lifeless Dodi just in front of her, then turned her head again toward the front where the bodyguard was ...

In fact, Queen Mary did not attend her son's funeral. Queen Mary died one year later, on 24 March 1953, two months before the Coronation of her granddaughter Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II
She married her third cousin, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, in November 1947. Like Queen Elizabeth II, he was a great-great-grandchild of Queen Victoria. Prince Philip died at the age of 99 in April 2021.
Through her father King George VI she was directly descended from James VI of Scotland.
Is the royal vault a freezer?
While it's not refrigerated, it is underground — the Royal Vault is a burial chamber underneath St. George's Chapel in Windsor, carved out between 1804 and 1810. But like all members of the Royal Family, Philip's coffin was lined with lead, which prevents moisture from getting in and slows decomposition.
The Queen died in the presence of her eldest son, The Prince Regent, at Dutch House (now Kew Palace) on 17 November 1818 and was buried at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
The Royal Vault is below the chapel and, as a private chamber for the Royal Family, is not open to the public. The family has buried 44 members at the location, 10 of whom are former monarchs.
When a concrete vault comes with plastic, it can take even 500 years until the body start gets to dirt. Anyone looking to come back to earth, should go with a biodegradable casket/wood caskets and not use embalming.
Following royal tradition, which dates back as far as the 1600s, the queen's coffin was lined with lead, which ensures that her remains stay intact for up to a year. This is because the lead makes the coffin airtight, stopping moisture from getting in and therefore slowing down the decomposition of the body.
In the Royal Vault, which contains the graves of up to 24 members of the Royal Family, Queen Elizabeth II will be interred close to her husband, Prince Philip.
Princess Margaret is the only senior royal member to have ever been cremated. She died in 2002 and did not have a traditional procession for her coffin to her final resting place, reports MyLondon. Instead, she was cremated in Berkshire - the Slough Crematorium.
St. George's chapel has several sections and nooks, including the King George VI Memorial Chapel, which the Queen commissioned after her father's death. The Queen will be buried in the memorial chapel alongside her parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and her sister, Princess Margaret.
Buckingham Palace has released the first picture of Queen Elizabeth's final resting place in St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. The Queen is buried on the same floor as her mother, father, and husband.
Westminster Abbey is the final resting place of 30 kings and queens. The first king to be buried at Westminster Abbey was Edward the Confessor in the year 1066. Until George II of England in 1760, most Kings and Queens of Englans were buried at this iconic church.
Do the royal family get embalmed?
"No expense would be spared when it comes to the care and preparation of the Queen's body." Embalming is a process which has also long been used by Royals, involving preservative fluids being injected into bodies to delay decomposition.
Camilla may have been at Diana's wedding but she was not welcome at her funeral, which was watched by an estimated 2.5 billion people around the world. Still, to many her absence echoed around the ancient hall. The Queen made it clear to Charles that he could not take his paramour to the service.
Queen Elizabeth II will be buried in an English oak coffin featuring brass handles that were designed more than 30 years ago, and lined with lead. It is estimated the coffin weighs between 250kg and 317kg.
On a wreath atop the coffin, a handwritten note read, "In loving and devoted memory," and was signed Charles R — for Rex, or king. Also atop of the coffin was the Imperial State Crown, a 2.3-pound crown worn by the queen after her coronation in 1953.
